QUEENS, N.Y. - Juniors Jeremy Baltz and Kyle Hansen have both been named third team Louisville Slugger Preseason All-Americans as announced by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. The selections mark the second-straight season that Baltz (second team) and Hansen (third team) have earned Preseason All-America honors from Louisville Slugger.
A two-time first team All-BIG EAST selection, Baltz batted .311 a season ago with 12 doubles, three triples and six home runs. The outfielder also racked up a team-best 60 RBI, which also ranked tied for third in the BIG EAST. Baltz also posted a .444 on-base percentage and a .483 slugging percentage.
Hansen, a two-time All-BIG EAST honoree and a two-time ABCA All-Northeast Region selection, went 8-7 with a 3.09 ERA a season ago. The righty racked up 106 strikeouts in a school-record 107.2 innings of work and limited opponents to just a .223 average. Hansen tossed one complete game shutout and also added one save.
